What does the evidence say about the durability of modular buildings? According to the Modular Building Institute, modular buildings are designed to meet the same building codes and structural requirements as site-built projects. While research comparing the two construction methods is still limited, the Institute highlights a FEMA study conducted after Hurricane Andrew. The study reported relatively minimal structural damage in wood-framed modular housing, noting that the module-to-module connections created an inherently rigid system that performed better than conventional residential framing. At LINQ, we believe quality starts with good engineering and construction, regardless of where a building is assembled. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dsKQAsaQ
